The first two debates are over, and Carrie's decision to stay out of the argument is looking better and better. After each debate, the voters and the press managed to find something negative to say about each candidate, no matter how eloquent his speech was or how well he made his points. Apparently, being a Presidential candidate means living under a microscope and enduring constant criticism and doubt.
If there's one thing Carrie does NOT need right now, it's more criticism. As Carrie is fond of saying, "It only takes one bad review to cancel out all the good ones."

The first of the Presidential debates is only a week away, and Ms. Bradshaw has yet to receive an invitation. Although this would deter a weaker woman, Carrie is nonplussed. She'd rather spend the first week of fall exploring the sights of the season in her own city, anyway. The debate is scheduled to be held in Florida, and based on recent weather reports, there's bound to be enough wind blowing around that state without adding another candidate to the discussion.
In the end, Carrie's happier staying home. "Maybe I can't leave New York." She says. "I don't know how I'd do someplace else."

Inquiring voters want to know: Is it true that candidate Carrie was spotted recently at the Autumn Crafts Festival at the Lincoln Center?
Sadly, the rumors are untrue. Carrie has been hard at work on her campaign platform, in preparation for the upcoming debates (assuming she's even invited). Even if she did have the time to tour the city, she might not have chosen the Crafts Festival as her latest stop. After all, isn't she more of a boutique belle than a craft barn babe? She has great respect for those who can create something with their own two hands, however. Especially those people who can cook.
"The only thing that I ever successfully made in the kitchen is a mess," Carrie states. "And several little fires."

While the other parties stress over their conventions, Carrie Bradshaw's Cosmopolitan Party gears up for an event that's more in tune with its own values: New York Fashion Week.
The major designers are putting the finishing touches on their Spring 2005 collections, and soon, tall, angular men and women of all persuasions will be strutting down runways throughout Bryant Park, clad in the latest prêt a porter and haute couture. Coming before the major Paris and Milan debuts, this event is the kickoff to the style season, and should provide a great launching point for a campaign devoted to bringing fashion back to the people.
When asked why she isn't having a convention like the other two parties, Carrie deferred to her campaign manager.
"I don't believe in the Republican party or the Democratic party. I just believe in parties," Samantha Jones told reporters.

Today, shockwaves ran through the world of politics--and the world of fashion--as popular Manhattanite Carrie Bradshaw announced her candidacy for President of the United States.
Running on a platform of fashion, fun, and the right to live fabulously, Carrie hopes to bring style back to the people and to make the world a better place, one closet at a time. Her refreshing idealism is already gaining ground, as her "Cosmopolitan Party" provides a unique alternative to the traditional two-party system.
When given the chance to discuss how her views differ from those of the major party candidates, Carrie declined, commenting, "Men I don't know. Shoes, I know."
